CGSociety is a good resource for stuff like this too. I used to spend hours there trawling for desktop backgrounds.

I love this stuff, thanks! It looks like the full list is here.

So, is this stuff Reddit users just find online and submit? These aren't the artists posting their own work, right? (Also, is the "City of Tuats" in the Cityscape link supposed to be a gag? Or does the poor artist have no idea what that sounds like? Or, does everybody but me somehow read Tuats like Tots or Tatts, or something else that doesn't sound like a name made up by a sniggering kid in homeroom?)

It's a mixture. The policies are down to the individual subreddits, but the general convention seems to be that if you're posting your own art you should indicate that in the post, often by including [OC] in the title.

Hmm. I love collections of SF art. Pity it's Reddit. Oh well, back to Deviantart.

Apparently the Tuats are for a game called Solarwind, so Igor probably isn't to blame, but yes, someone should tell them.

A lot of this stuff actually consists of links to deviantart. For instance, the imaginary blueprint of an egg salad sandwich (presently #5 on this reddit page) doesn't link to anything hosted on reddit. It just sends you here to the artist's dA gallery.

Not sure if I should be amused or alarmed or both that the Armored Women subreddit includes a Pepsi Blue-ish ad-post for "Best Ovulation Kit Buying Guide for 2015 | Top Choices of Best Tampons With Reviews".

Reminds me of the fantastic vertical art of ImperialBoy, which has served as the background of many a workstation in my life.

You know, even before TheCurrentUnpleasantness™, I always avoided Reddit for the interface. Those tiny thumbnails really don't do it for me.

Reddit's default interface leaves a bit to be desired. There's a browser-based toolsuite called RES that makes navigation a little easier, allows in-list previewing, etc.

Try Imagus:
Enlarge thumbnails, and show images/videos from links with a mouse hover.

It's great for this sort of thing.
