Oh, Miguel. It scared me the first time (with no sound). So I went back to view it a second time with the volume turned up... even knowing what to expect, I wet my chair. Thanks!

Me: "Hey Mr. D (my boss), you have a knack for finding mistakes, see if you can find out what's wrong with this picture. It took me all lunch break."
My Boss: "Hmm... okay... hmm... hmm... SH*T! My god..." (dosen't catch breath for two minutes)
Me: Still giggling as I write this.

Heh. It took forever to load so I got distracted, walked away from my desk for a sec, came back, sat down... and then jumped right out of my seat again.

If you want to see what it is but have a history of cardiac trouble, etc., using your peripheral vision on these alleviates much of the shock. But you have to glance back pretty quickly on this one to see what's come up.

I saw this a couple days ago. It didn't scare me because I knew what to expect, but the first one I saw along this theme made me scream out loud. =)

I didn't fall for it, when you see a picture like that and it is a .gif or a .swf, you know it's going to be animated, but the one riffola posted......yeah, it got me alright!

Ernie had a couple of posts linking to things like this about a month ago. Cool stuff though. Heart attacks are fun.

Well that woke my ass up.. but I still don't get it. What's wrong with the picture? Maybe the laptop shouldn't be with victorian style wooden furniture? Or if it's that close to a window the glare would make the monitor impossible to read..? *smirk*

Right, Zach! A really evil post would read:
What's wrong with this picture? Recent research has shown that most people can't spot assymmetrical objects, specially if they're hidden in an otherwise symmetrical image. Look closely at the furniture - forget the missing curtains - and try to detect the object that has been reversed or photoshopped.
Hint: The correct answer is predictably boring...
