Could voluntary online payments be a viable revenue model for online content? [via ev] For that matter, could this be a valid way to pay for MP3 music?

Well, maybe, if people got off their collective asses and made offline, anonymous digital cash a reality.

The theories seem pretty well planned out by now; the problem is that the backer has to be pretty darned big...

(And by people, there, I mean "large financial services companies who are more interested in profit than customer service".)
