<description>Two weeks ago, workers <a href="http://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Unionized-Staff-at-Ellens-Stardust-Diner-to-Stop-Singing-After-Multiple-Terminations-20160914">announced</a> the highly publicized formation of Stardust Family United under the Industrial Workers of the World, which is supported by over 70 employees of Ellen's Stardust Diner, a restaurant in midtown Manhattan recently <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/27/nyregion/a-manhattan-diners-new-management-has-servers-singing-a-defiant-tune.html">profiled for by the New York Times.</a> Ken Sturm, owner, then fired six long-time employees in retaliation for their efforts to form a union to protect and improve their working conditions. <a href="http://www.ellensstardustdiner.com/">Ellen's</a>, a diner which primarily employs Broadway and off-Broadway singers, has been <a href="http://www.playbill.com/article/whats-it-like-to-be-a-starduster-going-behind-the-scenes-at-broadways-singing-stardust-diner-com-366788">a mainstay source of income for many since 1995.
