Is Kansas becoming overrun with mountain lions? (Spoiler alert: no)
But it is interesting there are a few of them around. Saddest bit from the article:

Nearly all of the big cats moving through prairie grasslands and farm country have been young males.posted by honestcoyote at 11:58 PM on December 4, 2016
“That means you’re kind of missing a key ingredient,” [John Kanta, a South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks biologist] said, referring to female mountain lions. “That’s another reason (young males) keep dispersing is that they’re looking for females as well as good territory.” He said the odds of the few nomadic males on the prairie finding nearly non-existent females is extremely low.
My in-laws set up a wildlife cam in their forest and captured images of strangers poaching puffballs, which they thought were being eaten by deer.

What are puffballs?
The ones that grow in that forest look, from a distance, like softball-sized (or larger) white spheres lying on the ground, incongruosly clean so they almost glow. Reportedly puffball parmesan is quite delicious.
