Sheriff's Deputy turned TV Bailiff Rusty Burrell has died. I had no idea he was involved in the Charles Manson & Patty Hearst trials.

Indeed, Rusty gets a passing mention in "Helter Skelter", Vincent Bugliosi's massive recounting of the Tate-LaBianca murders and trials.

(The book came out when I was in 4th grade. I used to take it to school to read during lunch until I was asked not to.)

Shit, I picked Doug Llewelyn in the deadpool. My favorite People's Court moment was the episode where a guy was taking his housemate to court for eating his goldfish named "lucky" during a party. Rusty couldn't keep a straight face. Looks like the story was faked.
