[mlBandcamp] A little Throwback Thursday sludge for your listening pleasure: Kowloon Walled City/Thou split 7", featuring a cover of Low's July (original version) by Kowloon Walled City with Lisa Papineau, and Thou's world-ending cover of Soundgarden's 4th of July (original version).
Thou is touring this summer and I'm so excited. So so excited.

I just discovered Thou a few months ago when I was in New Orleans. I bought Heathen and a bunch of other cool records from Sisters in Christ, a record store owned by Thou's guitarist. Thou has been on a steady rotation since. Thanks for this. Now to look up those tour dates Special Agent Dale Cooper just mentioned!

"Kowloon Walled City with Lisa Papineau"
I am entranced by this song but not particularly in love with either of their outputs separately. Do you have anything else that sounds exactly like this?

Hmm! There's a few things that come to mind that are in a similar headspace, if not quite exact:
Chelsea Wolfe's album Abyss is gothy doom with a similar vocal approach. Iron Moon (solo live) is a really really good track from that record.
True Widow is kind of a sludge/stoner/shoegaze hybrid
Julie Christmas and Cult of Luna is a little more insane, but very very cool
Royal Thunder's earlier output could be described as Black Sabbath fronted by Janis Joplin

Getting to this thread late, but great stuff, thanks ED.
To add to your list above, I'd say give King Woman a listen.
