The first images from the Advanced Camera for Surveys on the Hubble Space Telescope have been unveiled.
A benevolent slashdotter mirrored the new pics. Unfortunately they're low res jpegs. Hopefully we'll be able to get the real deal soon...

Beautiful. The full-res version of the 'pinwheel firework' galaxy is my new wallpaper, suitably cropped.
