Have you ever dreamed of running away with the circus? Did anyone ever call you a freak? Well, now’s your chance to become one! Coney Island USA is proud to announce its latest program- SIDESHOW SCHOOL!
Tuition: $600.
> Have you ever dreamed of running away with the circus?
No. The only circuses I knew about when I was a kid catered to people who think, "Wow, look at the monkey dance. This was worth every penny, not to mention the monkey's life." As for the people circuses (Cirque du Soleil, etc.), if I were that flexible, I would never, as maybe George Carlin sort of said, leave the house.
But did I ever want to join a freak show? Life is a freak show, pal, and we're all in it. Roll over.
> Screw "banging nails up my nose."
You managed to get three slang terms for sexual intercourse into a six-word sentence. Fine job.
[By the way, the article claims the gag reflex is the result of just 10,000 years of human evolution. Apparently, cavemen and cavewomen didn't gag when you shoved something down their throats.]

i think if you ran away to join a circus, the ring master would probably employ you as a member of the audience - circus are pants

Some might argue that writing for the NYPost is the equivalent of joining the circus : )

I actually know two people who ran away and joined the circus. Mostly they got to shovel animal poop. But I'd like to learn how to eat fire...it's be a neat trick at parties until, of course, someone got hurt...

This is kewl. My much-mentioned midlife crisis is over! I have found my calling! I'm still torn between being a killer klown and MC for Burlesque at The Beach.
Actually, between this circus stuff and the Cyclones ball club, Coney Island is starting look really cool again. Just so long as the still have the hot dogs.
