In case you thought you have already heard every crazy idea in the world, an Israeli geneticist has bred a featherless chicken. This changes everything.

Those 'why did KFC change their name?' urban legends get closer and closer to reality every day.

And to think this whole time I thought a chicken's skin was brown and crispy underneath those feathers.

That inventor has a lot of pluck.

This would have made my grandmother very sad. She earned her living as a "chick flicker"--her job to pluck the feathers from poultry when fresh chickens had their necks twisted on the spot to help them "go to sleep" and then pull out the feathers....another job opportinty lost to technolgy. Will it ever end?
Note: can you use a featherless chicken for voodoo rites?

I usually force my chickens to pluck themselves at gunpoint. It changes a garden variety Sunday Dinner into an essay on the value of fear.

Until they can make them square, I'm not interested.

Or, a hard boiled square egg?

One question: why is that poor bird pink? Is it sunburned?

Anyway, this could be a glimpse at what dinosaurs looked like. (Hopefully, T. rex was not pink.)

The next step is to breed one without feet and a head. What would PETA say to that?

I'm not the chicken plucker, I'm the chicken plucker's son. I'm only plucking chickens 'til the chicken plucker comes.

I can't wait to eat one of those hideous monstrosities. It surely must count as a new species. I think they should call it the McChicken.

"turn the egg into a square egg. One egg at a time."

I have one of those! Really neat. Not good for much more than novelty purposes, but still worth it from a cost-to-silliness-instantiated standpoint.

Today the feathers...tomorrow, the bones!

Actually, I think the feathers are still there. On the inside.
