In Osaka, there's a place called Hukulou Coffee, with owls and cats and haunted hats, and a couple of young friends named Marimo and Fuku.

Aw. The adult cat licking the owl in the pinned tweet looks a great deal like the kitten Marimo sleeping with Fuku in the last link. Coincidence? I think not.

They both look really happy, which is what I like to see. There's an owl cafe in my prefecture and I love love love owls but still haven't been because they proactively sell owls as pets and because I can't be 100% sure they're not a stressful environment.

Cats making friends with other species (including humans) is just so incredibly cute. It always makes me wonder what exactly is going on in that little cat head, though. What is the cat thinking? Do they actually recognize the owl as another species, or is it the same as if it were another cat?

So many questions...

My cat was once on the railing of the deck, looking up into the nearby tree branches with that fascinated prey-seeking look; I followed her gaze, and saw there a huge owl, looking down at her about the same way. I grabbed her and went back inside with a quickness.

I had at least two cats eaten by owls growing up, so can only assume this is a sin against nature.

Owls are NOT social animals. They do NOT like confined spaces or noise. They do NOT make good pets.

Animal cruelty is NOT cute.

Note that this was referring to a different place. The Hukulou Coffee has one owl, Fuku. They will not sell Fuku.
