The first trailer for HBO's adaptation of Elena Ferrante's My Brilliant Friend has been released.

I'm so looking forward to this.
In the meantime, please enjoy a whole tumblr about how awful Nino is.

Oh my gosh, it looks fantastic. I don't get HBO so I'll have to wait for it to come out on streaming or DVD or whatever.

I can't see the linked trailer from the UK, but https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxqmF1hJs1E appears to work (for now, at least).
It's very exciting!

This looks really good, but I don't know if an adaptation can capture the amazing amount of emotional violence packed into even the smaller moments.

I'm so tempted to reread the book in preparation. God, I loved that book.

Nino is amazingly awful, but honestly, no one in those books is really very good.

The link to the video is now not loading - I get the you tube page but with a big grey exclamation point. Was it taken down?

I've just finished Those Who Leave and I am almost physically unprepared for how awful I know Nino is about to be, culminating his long career as fuckboi. I wanted to physically fling myself between the two of them.
