I thought this was a bit from Wings, but then I remembered it was a man and his estranged brother. Different story!

One of the best small things about being in a relationship of any kind, be it with an SO, kids or friends or whatever, is having people at the station/arrivals gate/wherever you arrive, actually waiting for you. Or standing there yourself, looking forward to meeting the person you're waiting for.

My 81 year old father still likes to do this for 53 year old me though he himself is not a demonstrative man. That is why I choose flights which are during slow traffic times. Knowing that someone cares enough to show up is very important.
