You have sunk my battleships! (Flash game.)
Fucking awesome...for the first few games. It'll be one of those flash sites that I visit once a week, just for kicks. Great link.

Oh damn, the battleship game ... did they fix the annoying "hanging up when you're about to win" problem?

I got that the first time I played yhbc, but it hasn't happened again in the past few days that I've been playing it, maybe they did.

Yeah no problems while playing here. Well apart from the slow response when I turn a ship too late right before placing it on the board.

I call shenanigans!
Since when, exactly, do you get another turn if you score a hit?
Everyone! get your brooms.

I've got to agree with you WolfDaddy, it totally changes the balance of a beloved game. In an interesting way mind you but, my memories. Ashes! All ashes!
< !-- and that's difficult enough to say with a straight face with your sister standing behind you saying, asses! all asses! -->>

I don't mind the second-turn-on-hit variation. I seem to recall it was one of several circulating "house rules" back in the day.
The one I've always wanted to see was attack power or number based on your extant fleet, and perhaps even ranged attacks and ship movement. Impossible to manage on a pegboard (cheating would be rampant!) but with a computer game ...

And there's only a 25% chance, generally, they'll get another part of your ship, and then only a 50% chance, generally, they'll be able to follow it all the way to the end. So it's devastating when they do find and kill your ship, but I'm not sure it changes the balance all that much in the long run.
