The video for Hania Rani's new song, F Major, is a single shot featuring the pianist and 3 dancers performing outdoors in -7C weather in Iceland.

Wow! That satisfied me in so many ways, yet left me wanting for more. Such pure expression.

in -7C weather

That's below-freezing even in Fahrenheit! I can only assume that the first dancer's moves were informed by the involuntary shivering of hypothermia. Lovely music and great scenery, though.

Lovely music. Sync to the piano was way off.

I love this, from the quiet intrusions of the piano’s mechanics into the audio, to the stunning backdrop, the expressive dancers, and the fact nobody was on screen for more than about 90 seconds so you know they dashed into a heated space as soon as they were out of the shot.

Just beautiful.

Wunnerful performances! 19F is pretty chilly, but with that wind....youch!

Oh my. That is the best knitwear ever.

Loved it actually. It's the way everything fitted together so strangely, so enhancing the musicality of it. The light, the wind, the colours, the textures.

I listened to her album, and it's really good.

I've come back to this, this morning, marvelling.
Just reciting the visual/textural elements that surround the music is evocative.
Sand, wind, linen, silk, dust. Bone, velvet, flesh, leather, rock. Snow, sea, light, flow, stillness.

Here's a Vimeo comment to the filmmaker and his answer (google transalte):
Amazing from all points of view. How long did you wait to have such perfect weather? The music, the performance of the dancers and the cameramen, everything is regulated with absolute finesse. Bravo

We had planned a fairly large window because in February it was complicated. And finally the first day was perfect, we entered the sequence plan in 3 takes (more with the cold it was impossible). We had time to enjoy after :)

I'm stunned. About to go down a pianist/dancer/dance film wormhole. Thank you!
