On the subject of furniture, I just scored a 36x36 piece of 1/2" steel plate for $60 on craigslist! I'm going to turn it into a welding table.

Because the thing is, neither 1/4" nor 5/16" is really a satisfactory substitute for 7mm.

Myself, I don't do much metalwork, certainly nothing hot. I have an old rolling Craftsman toolbox for my bike stuff. I thought I lost the keys at the car wash, so I ordered replacements, and now I have two sets! But the drawers have sharp metal edges that always try to rip my shirt.

The stickers on it look pretty good, although lately paint comes off on the alcohol wipe when I go to put another one on. Still, though, it didn't cost me anything.

At work I have a rolling Proto toolbox, bought from a retired IBM maintenance tech (I think for IBM internal facilities/factories). Also off craigslist.
