That Springsteen song has always been a favorite cut off The River for me--"They ain't gonna do to me what I watched them do to you" is pretty bleak, even for him--and I thought that I'd take a look at the lyrics again, but I found the Martina McBride song instead, and... holy shit. [CW: domestic violence, arson] Talk about a darkness on the edge of town.
