Has anyone ever tracked down the real Sultans of Swing?

The great Dire Straits song tells the story of a jazz band playing uninspired music in a mostly-empty pub to an indifferent audience. And Mark Knopfler says that's basically a true story, including the band's name. Has anyone ever found (or self-identified as) members of the real-life Sultans of Swing? It would be interesting to hear their perspective on the song. It's basically a diss track, but also it's a giant famous song about your band.

OMG I posted an AskMe to the blue. I have been here 19 years. I swear I know how this place works. (I will accept my deletion and wear the shame.)
