Wonderland is a new social network community centered around nature journaling sponsored by John Muir Laws and the Wild Wonder Foundation. Wonderland will allow users to share their work, plan events, connect with local clubs, etc.

I just signed up as a nature journaler - I do post my nature photos on my website and that appears to be good enough.

I just joined. Now I cannot wait to sketch the critters and flora during the fall season. I lost my small holly bush last winter. I must replace it soon. I favor gauche but perhaps I will go with mixed media...pencil,oil,charcoal, etc.

So, if any NYC-area mefites join and want to have a little mini-meetup, Memail me. It looks like there aren't any formal events on the site for this area, and I am going to need another person or two to play with to get my act together.

I've long wanted to do this kind of nature journaling, but my job situation was weird and my mental bandwidth was short, and I'm also crap at drawing. But recently my job situation improved and I have decided to treat myself to one of those little insta-cameras so I can do that instead of drawing; now I just need a little nudge to build the habit. A couple other people keeping me honest would help.

Fun, thanks! Just signed up and am excited to check out their guide and get started.

I'm an herbalist and spend a lot of outside adventure and learning time with my nephews. We keep a low-key journal of plants and animals we encounter (along with the occasional dragon or kraken :-), and Wonderland looks like a fantastic place to learn how to up our game.
