Dynamo Dreaming

You may remember Salad Mug being posted here to MF (checks watch)...a few years ago. That was episode 1 (part 1) of Dynamo Dream, a (sporadically updated) episodic film? series? created by user IanHubert and posted to youtube. Part 2 of episode 1 has just been uploaded: Prepare for Execution. In all, there are now four short films in the series.

If you haven't seen them and enjoy well-crafted short scifi films, you should give them a watch. They're a bit hard to adequately describe, but the world building is very good and the quality is top-notch. And the acting is pretty good, too.

The Dynamo Dream series so far is four short films, here in order of upload (I'm not sure it matters which order they're watched):

Salad Mug (Episode 1, Part 1) 21:31
A Single Point in Space (Episode 2) 15:53
A Pete Episode (Episode 3) 16:19
Prepare for Execution (Episode 1, Part 2) 22:05

All found on IanHubert's channel

Thanks for this! I remember seeing the first episode and then not following up. Just re-watched part one and I don't even know how much work goes into just the background work and details of world-building things like this.

I watched episode 2, but didn't realize that there were more.
Nice.

I subscribe to Ian's Patreon because he releases a jaw dropping quantity of really good Blender tutorials.

Just for example, in ep1 part 2: the sign with "This airport uses active millimeter wave scanning for full-body imaging to allow us to immediately scan for any threats on your person. For your privacy, the images will be viewed in a remote location by an intelligence. If you wish, you can opt for an intelligence that really likes it, or one that hates it. We honestly don't know which one is better. thank you". Or the Latin mural "Safe under the umbrella / I remember this moment", or just the "insured by ethicart" in the cab (maybe I read too much background text). I appreciate the attention to detail is all.

All of these are a gift. Every time a new video pops up, I hope some billion dollar company decides to just fund Ian for life.

Gorgeous. Stunning visuals, layer on layer.

What 1xdevbet said. It feels fractal, like you could stop at any point, drill down and it will all be fully realized as far as you want to go.

It's too smart for Hollywood, sadly.
