Insects are the little things that run the world. Now you can help choose Australia's favourite. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation has begun its quest to find out which native six-legged marvel is Australia's most popular insect for 2024. Six experts have selected their finalists for an online poll.

It's gotta be the eltham copper butterfly, just for the interesting relationship between its larvae, ants, and bursaria spinosa.

I'm between the stag beetle, because it looks cool, and the not-actually-extinct giant stick insect. But, I have a soft spot for bees, too.

Is one of these an Australian insect equivalent to the Drop Bear? I just don't trust them anymore.

Insects are awesome, but we need a favorite arthropod overall contest, so the funnel web spider can win, or maybe the giant-centipede.
