And on the opposite end of the spectrum, we have Malibu's 1993 Street Fighter comic, which was so awful that Capcom pulled the license after only three issues.

I see you "comics based on games" and raise you "game based on comics (the idea, not a specific comic)": Sega's Comix Zone

"game based on comics, the idea" also includes Accolade's Comics, which is probably a lot better to play on an emulator than with the super-sluggish c64 disc drive.

Oh oh - and back to comics about games. Again not necessarily a particular game, but heavily inspired by Mario in concept (if not visually).

Nth Man issue 10 is all about our hero John Doe getting teleported by Alfie O'Meaghan into a video game (called "Alfie's Quest TM"; though I misread as "Alfie's Guest" which also fits, especially since Alfie is a narcissist and be-all and end-all of his own little universe mentally, so it would make sense as Guest, but...)

Here's a few pages:

Also, I think that Bloodborne comic in OP looks super interesting... Time to check that out I guess!

I'd probably have gotten the Mass Effect comics, except that a) the art can be really bad, and b) several of them feature Kai Leng, probably everyone's least favorite character from the original trilogy, given some of the most blatant plot armor that I've ever seen in a game.
