Return of the Tabs

Spending several months out in the woods and small towns of Eastern America, much of it alone, has scrambled my life in ways I’m just beginning to notice, let alone figure out how to live with. I left at the end of May unsure if I would come back and resume writing Tabs, and here we are in January, halfway through a new Tabs post, and I’m still unsure. from New Year, New You, New Tabs

Today on Trail made me cry far more often than I thought it would (especially around parenting), and it was also helpful for me to read how he was handling many necessary changes to his plans because I really struggle with the same and my last few years have had a lot of plans falling apart.
I was apprehensive about if I could read Today in Tabs now that we have the second Trump presidency but per the usual I find myself relating strongly to what he thinks and feels about the state of the world and the couple of issues that have come out this year have made me smile and helped me feel less alone, and I am really grateful. I cannot recommend his newsletter and writing enough! I have barely skimmed the Tabs Discord community but I know it’s also full of good, like-minded people.

Tabs is consistently excellent and has been a regular source of joy and occasionally comfort for me the last couple years. Was delighted to have Rusty mention one of my linocuts.
