Narwhal: a music ensemble

There’s a rare magic in Narwhal’s brass and vocal arrangements of "Frou-Frou Foxes in Midsummer Fires" and "Weird Fishes", a moment where a group of talented musicians lock in and "catch lightning in a bottle."

Steely Dan vibes from the tenor player on the Weird Fishes cover. I think Pete Christlieb is the guy I'm thinking of but not 100%

The Weird Fishes cover is just slinky.

Magic is the right word. Something going on there for sure. I have been in rooms where something like that happens and it is so special. It almost seems like you wouldn't be able to capture it on video, but I'm sure I have seen a few other examples of this kind of phenomenon. It is so rare and inexplicable.

Simon Raymonde of Cocteau Twins just shared on IG: "I enjoyed this cover of 'Frou Frou Foxes In Midsummer Fires' so much and hope you will too." He posted an excerpt and linked to it in his bio.
