Cartoonist, author, Pulitzer winner Jules Feiffer passes at 95

His last book came out four months ago. I remember him best for the delightful scribbly aesthetic of The Phantom Tollbooth, but he was incredibly prolific and a tremendous talent.

I see this post is a double & might get deleted but I’m sharing anyway.
back in 1993, my mom took me & my sister to one of his signings for The Man in the Ceiling, a young adult novel about a boy artist he’d written as well as illustrated. I’d never seen anything quite like it.
“why aren’t you in school?” he asked, faux-sternly.
why, to come see you. a couple decades later, random house published my second young adult novel, which I’d illustrated as well as written. it was about a girl artist.
