The Project 2025 Tracker is a straightforward presentation of America's descent into regressive authoritarianism.
holy hell, that's depressing. no, we are not ok. please send help. at what point does the UN step in and take over our country to rescue it from this tyranny?

Great, now I can visualize my fears. This is cool, but terrifying.

“Rescind USAID policies that address climate change and help countries transition away from fossil fuels.” Is considered completed because the admin is trying to shut down USAID and has frozen its funding. But those actions are being contested right now in the courts. It isn’t some kind of done deal. There is some kind of middle zone not being captured here that matters a lot to me, primarily because I’ve want to see Project 2025 as a battle to be fought and not a fair accompli.

Quiet, everyone. Thomas Friedman is saying something.
The upside is that [TFG] is ready to shake up the game board. And the game board sometimes really does need to be shaken up. Why are we still talking about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict? Why are there still Palestinian refugees 75 years after the birth of Israel? Why is this Ukraine war just dragging on as a war of attrition?posted by Lemkin at 9:48 AM on February 20 [4 favorites]

As with most of the court orders, the Trump administration is simply ignoring the court order to unfreeze USAID grants. Illegally fired USAID workers continue to be forbidden to return to work, and Customs and Border Protection has been measuring the former USAID offices for curtains.

Christian Nationalism
I did one a year ago but it got taken down - idk why. I could write one but I think Americans are blinkered to the idea of political religion and are waking up too late.
In the Denmark thread I put a synopsis of where the US is at and how it got to now.

So, the first linked article suggests that USAID / The Trump Admin is engaged in hardball lawfare to still be allowed to blow itself up. That’s obviously not good, but it’s also kind of the deal. (These aren’t Democrats.) It’s also not a story linked at the site, which is also why I kind of don’t like it. The USAID shutdown is a hot issue, and it is one that the admin is actively working on completing. It isn’t a done deal, move the resources to other projects situation. So I really wish there was a middle ground state.

I've been waiting for this. I thought it might be called the "Project 2025 Scorecard", but this is better organized.
It's informative, but also grim.

Honestly, I don't know whether to be concerned about the long-term impact that Project 2025's goals will have, or to be impressed that this administration is getting this much accomplished (ignoring the "how") in such an extremely brief time. Probably both.

I could get all of my yard work done for the year by pouring gasoline on the whole yard and lighting a match. You probably wouldn't be impressed.

If previous owners said that they promise to get control of your yard, and did multi-year studies with groups to analyze all of the different options as well as long term impact of the different ways to get control of your yard, while your yard continued to grow more and more out of control, and you moved in and lit the yard on fire, I would be equally impressed in how quickly you accomplished the task in such an extremely brief time, but also concerned about the long-term impact of you doing so.
