Yeah, it's sad about NNWM, but their pivot to AI promotion burned an incredible amount of community good will. I was enthusiastic about NaNoWriMo back in 2003 and 2005, but it's easy to sabotage your project online if you don't have Big Money No Whammies behind you.
It was probably also a factor that you don't particularly need a website to tell you to write every day for a month.

Andrew Jervis is no longer with Bandcamp (FB link). After 12 years with the company, he was laid off, thus ending his tenure as Director of Artists and Labels and host of the Bandcamp Weekly. If you, like many, appreciated the music he introduced to listeners, here's a Spotify playlist (yeah, ironic) of his weekly tracklist. I can't tell if it's comprehensive, but it comprises just over nine thousand songs. His Bandcamp collection here.

Speaking of, The Tragic Downfall of NaNoWriMo spills quite a bit of tea besides just the AI debacle.

I posted this belatedly in the top athletic moments of 21st century thread, but it's worth watching Gretchen Walsh having one of the most dominant swim meets ever this last december in Budapest if you like watching people at the very top of their game.
Here's a compilation vid of the nine (!) individual world records she set
Here's one of the two relay world records she was also part of
Here's the other WR relay (these women beat the existing WR by four seconds, which is insane)
Being part of 11 world records at a single meet is amazing...and she'd be even faster if her starting reaction times were better, which is incredible to think about. Walsh is arguably the best in the world under water, which is a huge factor in short-course races, where it's legal (and physically possible) to swim roughly half each lap under the surface.
The US women's team was absolutely packed with talent at Budapest, with Gretchen's sister Alex, Regan Smith, Claire Weinstein, Katie Grimes, Lilly King and others all killing it.
