Nokia Game

Nokia Game is back with a vengence (certainly here in the UK anyway), and claiming to be "an experience you will never forget". Will it be? Will it surpass the last two Nokia Games, which became clouded in game-playing techies' catty derision of the technology used? Will the huge band of followers at the cunningly titled fan site Nokia-Game return again? And, more pressingly, will they still create stunningly TV, radio and newspaper adverts, so we can all boast again that we're part of it?

Those are the kind of stuff we should have here in the US or more specifically Hawaii. ;) Sometimes you think the US is far ahead in technology but visit Europe or Japan and see the thousands of phones that can do everything for you.

What the heck is it?

For starters, it's yet another reason not to buy a cellphone.

I'm interested to hear from someone who took part in last year's game. What kind of "challenges" does the game involve? The website seemed a little vague.

I'm gathering that this contest doesn't extend to America, so us unfortunate Yanks can't play?

Not like we could even use the phone that's the prize anyway, probably.

I nearly strangled my prankster friends who were quite into it and kept sending me SMS' and emails from the game. I don't need my phone beeping every two minutes - and I started filtering their mails. way to go to be annoying.

Stuart, the game usually involve using pictures/shockwave/emails/text messages/newspaper adverts/tv adverts to solve problems - in the last two games, it was ultimately to find people. It's involving every media, and is actually quite involving. This one seems a little different though...

Actually, the prize is the Nokia 3650 which will be available in the US in early 2003. It's a very cool camera/pda/media player and, uh, phone . . .
