Yeah, but it's a Mondrian.

It has never occurred to me before this moment that Mondrian may have just been playing an old skool version of Qix.

This Mondrian is pretty expensive, too

The "Mondrian Machine" is not intended to in any way trivialize the work of Mondrian, but to recognize his place in an abstract art tradition that long predates digital computer technology.

Mondrian is doing the broadway boogie-woogie in his grave.

I'm having a heckuva time drawing a proper golden rectangle in that box...

I made one of these about five years ago (1997) using frames.

It's right here.

I cleaned it up recently and used it for a 5k contest entry.

That's cool, pjdoland! Make a bunch of changes to the boxes in pjdoland's simulator, then hit the back button repeatedly and quickly: An animated changing Mondrian!

FYI: I don't think Shockwave is required. Looks like it's done with CSS & JavaScript to me. Fun link, Miguel.

Oops, sorry Miguel, you meant ShockWave for that second link.

No, you're right, boredomjockey - it should have read "First link via BR; Shockwave required for the second. "

Btw, no contest, pjdoland. Yours isn't predictable and is far less mechanical. Great stuff - thanks.

pjdoland - yours is much better! Thanks.
