XQUZYPHYR, are you having a shitty day, sweetie? Because you see to be jumping on people's asses recreationally. While playing MeFi cop might be fun, it might best be saved for threads not announcing someone's death. Go wave a sparkler and have some watermelon.

Just so everyone knows, this means I now have the sexiest voice on earth.

Damn.
Double damn.
Now who's gonna sing the "doin' the wild thing" music?
(suggestions?)

Back off, Space Coyote...the Sexiest Voice On Earth title is now *mine*. But I digress...
Barry White will be missed. As a commentator said on CNN a few minutes ago, there must be tens of thousands (or more) of people who are here on this planet right now as a direct result of Barry's music. End of the baby-boom, indeed.
Favorite song? Tough call...but probably "What Am I Gonna Do With You?"
And there was that episode of "Ally McBeal" that I happened to be watching a few years ago...when the cast members were in a nightclub to celebrate a birthday, and in walks Barry White, crooning to the birthday person...sent chills down my spine.

Hey, $random_string_of_consonants_in_caps, step off mofo! I was leaving when I heard, so I just posted the news. There were no links when I found out. Next time, I'll ask your permission before I post, eh?
I'm not overly happy with my post being edited either, but - ho-hum.

Barry White's daughter was the mother-to-be on an episode of A Baby Story on the TLC network a couple of years ago, and the cameras followed her on a pre-birth visit with her father. In addition to having a velvet voice, Barry White had a tender, loving heart. He will certainly be missed.
But Luther Vandross fans rejoice -- he's recuperating from his stroke and is making definitive progress in rehabilitation every day.

I remember an episode of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous with a segment on game show host Wink Martindale. During a scene at Wink's birthday bash, Barry White, with a drink and a smoke in one hand and a mic in the other, was belting out tunes by the pool as the evening's entertainment. Wink's birthday parties just won't be the same anymore.

pemulis, that's either very sly, subversive humor or a warped mis-use of the [This is good] system!!

Practice What You Preach is my favorite Barry White tune. I always include Barry White in my talk of favorite R+B singers, probably 2nd after Marvin Gaye. RIP Barry.

even the words "Sioux City, Iowa" sound romantic when spoken by Barry White, and that's saying a lot.
