I don't think it's a port. I've played almost every 2d Sonic, and I don't recognise the first level. No... I belive this is a handrafted labour of love. Which demands respect.
It's significantly more fun than the last couple of 3d Sonic's to boot.

It's staggering how flash of this magnitude renders my machine as useless as UT 2004 does.

inpHilltr8r, the last sonics were much more fun when played with Japanese voices (still possible with Sonic Heroes, with the right... tools).
