Poeme Symphonique - a piece for 100 metronomes.
I was part of a performance of this piece last October at Stony Brook University on Long Island. It's quite a sound, those 100 metronomes! Very cool to have done it. It started off a whole program of Ligeti's music, including the Chamber Concerto, the Horn Trio, String Quartet, and Continuum (played by yours truly). Amazing music, all of it. Ligeti's music is some of my favorite.

The piece is available on a CD of Ligeti's 'Mechanical Music'.

This piece was actually performed tonight here in Stockholm, as the final event of the Polar Music Prize week. I missed it, though.
Ligeti fucking rocks btw.
