"Yes, I'm comin' back to serve a second term..." JibJab strikes again (flash).
Too true and depressing to be funny.

The real classic was 2000's Election Day rap. It's been a slow downhill slide since then.
This one is particularly dull. Someone told me they liked it more because it wasn't "as mean." I think that's exactly the reason I dislike it: It's a political song with a duller point than Mark Russell's worst.
No slight on the post, by the way: like it or not, I'm glad I know this came out. Thanks.

Word on the 2000 piece. These ginger sing-alongs are getting a bit too safe.
But I agree: thanks for the JibJab alert!

sorry... I find the JibJab stuff rather boring... and this does nothing to reverse that trend. They try and stay on both sides of the political issues, which gives it no real meaning or effect. Just pandering to both sides in order to keep up their traffic numbers.

So this link, it does something?
I wasn't able to get it to load properly in Firefox, but here is a direct link: http://us.i1.yimg.com/advision.webevents.yahoo.com/a/flash/jibjab/JibJab_SecondTerm_2.swf
It's hardly worth the time, though.

I'm glad everyone is settling for the ole "coming back together" of republicans and democrats. That whole questioning our President thing got way too out of hand.

Not impressed. It could basically be used as a campaign ad. There isn't a single joke, with the exception of Colin Powell getting yanked off the stage, that's clever or funny.

What's funny is how JibJab has gone from top-shelf cultural provocateurs to tired, washed-out, irrelevant has-beens in a little over six months. Maybe Andy Warhol was too optimistic - for the future, twelve minutes, tops.

I have to say that their Founding Fathers rap from about 2000 was brilliant.
But the last one had a bunch of sorry "John Edwards is gay" jokes. And I just watched this one with the sound off on my broken Mac, and I'm not inspired to turn it on.
Paris: Why, because he would have replaced the U.S. government with a board of Al Qaeda Communist Comptrollers or something?

If there had been the slightest tinge of anti-Bush sentiment, it would've been uproarious, a work of genius and a credit to the Web. MeFi collectively would've said so.

That sucked. I tried to think of something more clever to say, but it just sucked. It's like being thrown back 30 years culturally, just by watching that. Where's my variety show with cheap skits and double entendres, only done via the Internet and including some outright foul language, making it cutting edge or somethin'?

There was comedy there if only in the way Dick Cheney bobbed his head to the beat like some kooky old grandpa from the mountains playing in a jug band. It's visually very amusing. That and the 'shit creek' joke made it worthwhile.

Gee-Dubaya-Bee,
I got the family tree,
you know my rhymes are gonna burn it
in the third degree....
Is it germaine,
does it pertain,
if I did cocaine
when I lived my life in the fast lane?
If I refrain,
I abstain
on the campaign.
Daaaaang!
It's insane!
