The Genomic Dub Collective "aim to create a new musical genre, Genomic Dub, that celebrates recent successes in the field of genomics and evolutionary biology." Samples, lyrics.
musician: "let's rock!"
scientist: "wait, write a grant proposal first."
musician: "ok, but it has to rhyme and be written in Jamaican Creole."
scientist: "awesome!"
i like that they're looking into "encoding macromolecular (protein and DNA) sequence data into dub music".
