EGIL: The Electronic Gateway for Icelandic Literature. Digitised texts related to Iceland.
Excellent. The linked page makes the resources look a bit thin; to see the real breadth, you need to browse the other resources. Lots more stuff accessible through this portal than there appears to be at first glance.

I don't know about Journey, but Laxness' work is still protected by author's copyright, since it's only about 10 years or so since he passed.
And as we know, if the publisher can distribute for price, he's not going to distribute it for free :)
