Risin' up, back on the street
Did my time, took my chances
Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive
Did my time, took my chances
Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive
Shucks... but I guess since it won't actually load, I'm still good.

This would've been better if it had been about Rush.

OK. Semi-funny. Except for the bike scene. That was funny.

Not too shabby. I liked that cheap exercise bike in the highway.

I liked where he stole the second drink and the waiter takes off after him. And the bike.

Nice. Very Jackass, but French.
I don't think so. My guess is that it was filmed here (in Canada).

I must dissent. The first word that comes to mind is "meh."

I'll second that meh, because I had my sense of humor removed after a horrible accident. True story.

I'm a Rocky fan of the first magnitude, to the point of getting verklempt and misty-eyed during the scene in II where he jogs through South Philly trailed by the pack of kids.
And I thought this was hilarious. Speedbagging the hams was an especially nice touch.

For some reason the tune stuck in my head is not "Eye of the Tiger," but rather Weird Al's "Its the Rye or the Kaiser." I am both embarassed and amazed that I remember the lyrics from when I was 12. From memory:
"Its the rye or the kaiser or the wheat or the white.
May I suggest an appetizer,
Stay away from the tuna it smells funny tonight
But you just can't go wrong with the rye, or the kaiser"
Now see what you made me do.

We have a weird subspecies of tourists here, the Rocky tourist. They cruise the Italian market and run up the Art Museum steps. Strange.
Anyway, we once got out a map and for laughs we calculated Rocky's training run. Let's see, from 9th Street in the market, swing by the Art Museum, quick detour to the El....it was at least twenty miles.

It's fun for the first half minute...then it shows the director likes waaayy too long scenes.

Canada's switched to european-style license plates very recently, then?

The stationary bike in the middle of the road was definitely the highlight, but walking right past the meat counter at the supermarket and beating up the side of beef while the guy at the counter completely ignores him was good, too. I don't demand my six minutes back.

I hear you there. I was especially fond of the praying-by-the-urinal spoof. I never understood why Rocky chose that certain spot, as it is. And with the man taking care of business right next to him-- classic!! A person would have had to have seen these movies way too much in his childhood to feel the humor.
