Computer Graphics Contests

CG Challenges - the largest online art contests of their kind, where artists are challenged to create outstanding artworks based upon set themes, while working under restrictions. For CG students, an additional bonus is the view of the creation process.

Another similar site: 3D Fight Club. It's more about little challenges -- make a lightbulb in a day or less, make a gun in two hours or less -- and not as serious.

If you like this sort of thing I recomend buwing the books from ballistic. The expose books are particularly good.
I always start the damn challenges but have never finished one :) The amount of work that is put into these is amazing, I think the prizes are well deserved.
