Elmo Strikes Back? Investigators at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting are examining payments to two Republican lobbyists that were not disclosed to the corporation's board, and whether Mr. Tomlinson had the authority to approve the payments.

I think a nice media campaign with shots of Sesame Street, Reading Rainbow, Antiques Roadshow (you know, the shows on PBS stations people watch) and the like being turned off and tv's going to static would raise a hell of a lot of interest in the congressional moves to cut funding...
And expecting a Republican, serving during a Republican-controlled congress and Republican President are in office, to respect 'non-bias' is like asking that fox over there to keep an eye on the other foxes while the hens are out...
