Pixies unplugged

I wonder if Odetta will sing backup on "Debaser". The Pixies will do their first acoustic set ever this summer, and what more appropriate place than where Dylan plugged in and changed the rules? That's right, Newport, baby!
That sounds like it'd be interesting at least. I just recently got back from seeing the Pixies in Columbia, MD. It was a fantastic show.

As an aside, it scares me that the Newport Folk Festival has borrowed their logo color scheme from Dunkin Donuts. The DD people are evidently not content with their current brand awareness/saturation in New England -- I guess a restaurant every 200 feet isn't sufficient?

I can't wait until 15 minutes after the show, when it hits P2P!

The folk thing isn't that much of a stretch. The band formed when Frank Black advertised for a bassist into Husker Du and Peter, Paul, and Mary.

Hey, I was at that! I agree that they were great, although I was startled at how fat Frank Black has gotten. I mean, he was FAT!

I wonder if they'll sound a bit less bloated when done up acoustic. That's low. That's really low. But yes, as myeviltwin mentioned, Black has become a fat fat man. Though I saw them in LA and I think Kim looks extra attractive with short hair. Mmmm...

They've done some acoustic B-sides and such over the years, so I bet this will be good. Besides, nobody says you can't holler and scream with an acoustic guitar... I doubt they're gonna go all Norah on us.

If you've heard the acoustic demos on "Frank Black Francis", you already know this is going to be great. But there's no way I'm going to sit through a whole folk festival for it.
