This post reminds me of the greatest metafilter post of all time. Yes, it's about balloons. And hats. Everyone's two favorite things.

I'd just like to take a moment here to urge everyone to just say no to single-character links. If it's good enough to link, it's good enough to have a whole word devoted to it. When someone posts single-character links, just say no.

Ya know, some friends and I started talking last week about what next 'EXTREME' thing we could do.
We have climed numerous 14K peaks, we had just finished kayacking down the Arkansas River, Some had been skydiving, but that seemed to involve training-expence.
We thought of base-jumping or hang gliding, but again, equiptment was hard to rent/expensive.
So we thought about buying a lot of helium, (we thought about making our own hydrogen, first, but decided it was worth the cost for helium for the inertness) and doing a good, old fashioned, Colorado lawn chair baloon classic.
Since we all immediately embraced the whole concept of a tether, we should be fine. I'll update as the event draws near!
