Ironically, I just stopped using it yesterday after I loaded Tiger on the Mac...Firefox and Tiger do not play well together... ah well, back to safari!

And in my tiny corner of the web, FireFox stands at 13% of my site visitors while IE rolls in at 81%. Which is just kind of sad.

I don't know how it runs on Macs, Rothko, but on the Windows side of the world, I find Firefox to be far more stable than IE.

Nobody else thinks a post to a five line news blurb is crappy? There isn't even an analysis of why this is significant; not even a comparison to Opera/IE/Safari stats.

fenriq: on my tiny corner of the web it's 49.3% IE to 45.4% Firefox, which I find kinda encouraging. (Safari's at 1%, beating Opera at 0.6).

I've used Firefox ever since I switched to a Mac last year (just don't like Safari), and when i updated to Tiger in April I had no problems whatsoever. I'd be interested in hearing what kind of problems you're having.

For those that asked... I end up with annoying spinning beach balls with almost every action in firefox.... they eventually clear after a minute or so...

This is the ONLY program I'm having any issues with after installing tiger.....

Since some of you are doing ok with it, perhaps I need to explore this a bit more, I certainly prefered Firefox over Safari prior to this experience.. thanks for letting me know it isn't a universal issue.. as usual, it is just me! :(

no, no, not just you. Firefox is hella slow compared to Safari (or Opera) on Tiger.

McDonalds sold 300000000 billion hamburgers, but mostly to the same customers over and over again.

The new 1.5 betas are a lot faster on Tiger, so you should try it out to see if it fixes your speed issues. I still prefer Opera.

Ditto. I'm using iTunes, but those are my two beefs with it (though, to be fair, in my experience most mp3 playback software goes against Windows interface design practices)

Meh to the highest... I really believed in FF, but I've had to endure too many random grim reaper-like appearances of 'Mozilla Quality Agent' right in the middle of hardcore researching, losing every damn tab. I switched to Opera and really like it, though i miss the extensions and versatility of FF. I'll gladly switch back once FF promises a fully reliable browser (I do use Thunderbird, however, and love the hell out of it).

1.0.7 had the worst stability I've seen yet. Had to go to the 1.5 beta 2, which seems to be fine.

It depends on how much they've improved its security. Even my computer illiterate mom downloaded Firefox and is using it in lieu of IE. Of course, she's still on 1.0, so it's not exactly better. As long as Microsoft can pressure OEMs from installing Firefox on the desktop, the vast majority of people will continue to think that the blue e icon is the internet and remain ignorant of alternative browsers unless there continues to be major security breaches in the new version of IE.
