Well, only 10 shopping days left until Super B(bleep)l Sunday, and of course, everyone's ready for the big... commercials. This one, from People for Eating Tasty Animals -- er, um, sorry; mispronounced that -- was refused by CBS, or so saith the minions at AdCritic. Hope they're planning a Superbowl focus page during and after the show. They really oughtta hold a vote. No, wait... it would take too long. :-}

Tangentially: who's left to spend money on ads this year?

An interesting factoid - I read somewhere (can't find it anymore) a brief comparison between the commercials of this year's game and last year. Notably, last year had some 10+ .com commercials. This year, there is hotjobs.com and monster.com. :)

I can't wait to see the follow-on to that great Robert Frost commercial Monster had last year. Can they surpass its sublime incomprehensibility?

That hotjobs hand gives me nightmares, though.

Nothing would please me more than to see a Half-Time show where members of PETA are served as the main course in a giant BBQ.

No, that was a bitch-slap at the NFL for being anal-retentive about people using the words "Super" and "Bowl" as editorial descriptive terms for "the big football game" if they aren't paid sponsors. It's moronic.
