For nearly two years now, Ben T Steckler has been reviewing, posting album covers, and making full albums available for download from his seemingly inexhaustible collection of out-of-print, spoken word, sound effect, educational & other kooky recorded ephemera. If you're a fan of album titles like How To Buy Meat, What Smoking Has Done For Me, or The Catholic Marriage Manual, this site will provide you with endless hours of reading/downloading/listening pleasure.

Marriage advice from a celibate priest, I always thought that was funny. Good stuff.

"Marriage advice from a celibate priest, I always thought that was funny."
Well, who better to offer an, um, objective opinion on sex?
Sorry to go off-topic, though... so lemme say again, stellar post!

I clicked "What Smoking Has Done For Me" hoping for advice on what to do with this brisket (thanks "How To Buy Meat"!) but Mr. Medlocks narrative was not helpful.
Otherwise, great post.

I just had to download The Catholic Marriage Manual. The masochist inside me couldn't resist.

Ben T Steckler is doing us a real service by digitizing this ephemera. We'll never see stuff like it on CD.

Wow. Look at the people who played on this Mitch Ryder record. Steve Cropper, Al Jackson, Booker T, Duck Dunn. That's an amazing lineup.

I agree, but there really are a lot of sites out there like this. Most of them are not nearly this much fun, and are more oriented toward a particular type of music. Most of them also can not afford the influx a gazillion new users. So rather than post them here I suggest you search for what you like and I think you will be pleasantly surprised. There are also a lot of wonderful music blogs that will post a track for a few days or weeks along with the backstory. Most of these also can not afford to be MetaBombed. Lots of good links over in MeCha though, and of course JonMC is just laying down the interesting tracks on a regular basis there. (Of course, you probably already knew all this; but just in case you did not, now you do.)
