Mike Patton... He's the guy that made Faith No More suck, right?

Is this about how sucky and prissy David Bowie would be in a parallel universe?

I concur.

That's awesome. I'm a big fan of Patton's work, especially Fantomas.

I cued up the last minute of "Slowly Growing Deaf" by Mr. Bungle and wondered: "He is not God?"

I got to see Peeping Tom play recently. They were really, really good. And, hey, Mike Patton! (who, to my confusion, wore a hairnet on stage)

Then I went and downloaded the album, and it was a big yawner.

And then I saw this a couple months later.

Disturbing!

DOUCHE CHILL...

umm, huh?

Not to piss on anyones picnic, but how do we know that Patton isnt God?

I mean, I've read the scriptures and all and it's clearly either him or Clapton, and really...

Wait. WTF were we talking about again?

/suddenly realizes that I am not high...

Oh and why is this a FPP?

With the mention on All My Children, Mrs. Bungle should be very proud.
posted by bigmike at 4:33 AM on September 18, 2006

If Mike Patton isn't actually God, then he has to at least be Jesus' younger brother. I consider Mr. Bungle's studio albums a far more impressive miracle than turning water into wine (I think I've seen Penn & Teller do it, too).

Mike Patton is Satan too, listen to the 4 track EP he did with Dillinger Escape Plan. EVIL DEVIL MUSIC!

After Music to Make Love To Your Old Lady By, I was convinced that He might be.

But let's compromise. How about a pagan system, where He is a god?

OK, she went backstage at a Guns n Roses concert to see Faith No More... with her Mom! I mean, how hardcore is that? She's probably fucked John Zorn.

Also, at the end the guy reaches for a tray saying "First things first." Everyone thinks its speed or coke or something, but it's... shooters? WTF is that? And then this ex-sorority bitch has the gall to turn him down? Man, rock is dead.

nothing says Mr Bungle fan more then white pants and an attractive little pink top.

saw Mr Bungle at the OLD 9:30 in DC in 1991. most disturbing show i have ever seen.

Awesome. That, to me, was more surreal than anything I've seen by the dadists.

You just blew my whole belief system into smithereens. Thanks. Thanks a lot. The Middle East won't take this too kindly, and by 'the Middle East' I mean southern Michigan.

Is this something you'd have to be a cool kid to understand?

Remember when Adam used to pretend he was Stewart? That was some good AMC.

I sent that link to a musician friend of mine who's a big Patton fan. I said it was pretty surreal. He replied that he found it more confounding that a Patton fan was sitting home taping All My Children. I had to agree.

Who the hell is Mike Patton and why should I care (a lot)?
posted by Skygazer at 8:20 AM on September 18, 2006

Didn't we have recently a video of Mike Patton speaking his mind on the band Wolfmother.
That's too much Mike Patton for me in a short time.

Skygazer writes "Who the hell is Mike Patton and why should I care (a lot)?"

You're just bitter about Chuck Mosely.

In Mike Patton's favor, while he might not be god, he recognizes CRAP when he hears it.

Soap operas do this shit all the time. Cultural relevance.

Mike Patton is barely culturally relevant to the world of rock and roll, let alone the folks who watch soaps. I'm betting that 99 percent of the AMC audience think Mike Patton is a figment of the writers' imagination.

Wolfmother is pretty cool.

Here's a couple other rockin' cool combos that you might dig!
posted by Alvy Ampersand at 8:33 PM on September 18, 2006

Cute snark alvy, but they aren't just a first rate Zeppelin knockoff, they're a pretty spot on Sabbath knockoff as well!

And I'm okay with that. It beats the shit out of 9/10ths of all the other horseshit new music out there today.
