MONSTERS. While Cthulhu enjoys frequent attention, Monster Brain does not discriminate in its collection of fine monster illustrations. Monster Brain likes awesome monsters. Monster Brain likes scary monsters. Monster Brain likes cute monsters. Monster Brain likes abstract monsters. I don't know what kind of monster this is.

Ye Gods, I love Metafilter.

When I was much younger, I owned an awesome book of monster illustrations that had some great Lovecraft, but also things like the Guildsmen of Dune. Wish I still had it ... I might get a tatoo.

Yes! You just saved me an Askme. (and cost me the price of that book). Thank you.

it is a good thing we killed all the monsters back in 1589; i was tired of their crappy attitude.

Monster Brain just confirms it was all worthwhile.

Wonderful find, o great cheese!

These "Necronomicon" sketches from Heavy Metal are fantastic.

This series was my first exposure to Lovecraft; I discovered this and the volume shown in the first link in the library of my Catholic high school; clearly no one in the administration had ever read them. Now I kind of wish I'd stolen them.

I thought we sent most of them to Monster Island?
