Dave's Garden is a website where roughly a quarter of a million gardeners and farmers exchange plants and seeds, horticultural tips, photos of produce, and garden diaries. It also offers PlantFiles (an online plant database), Garden Watchdog (a merchant list that aggregates site members' ratings), Garden Bookworm (members rate books), BugFiles (about bugs) and PlantScout (helps you find a nursery that has the plant you want). Dave apparently likes to coin words, as there's also a Gardenology (glossary) and a Botanary.
I've been hoping to find a site like this since... since... well, I'd post a picture of last year's garden, but I'm afraid the Department of Tomato Services would have one of thier people on my doorstep first thing in the AM. What would the neighbors say? Thanks owhydididoit!

I sioneeded this to get me back on track! I've really neglected the garden, it's been a busy, busy time. This is so inspirational and now I may finally find that old fashioned thyme I'm looking for.

Yay! I'm glad other folks liked it. I was cutting some catnip for herb tea, realized I didn't know if it was a good idea, and went searching around for herbal tips. Dave's Garden sprung up.

The Plant Scout is going to be v. v. useful, so useful in fact that I can't believe no one has ever thought to do this before. Every year I come up with two or three plants I want to try which are difficult or even impossible to locate.
Much gardeny goodness to dig up on this site. Oooh look. Books. 'Scuse me, I must just go see how much other people adore Henry Mitchell!

I love that site; I use it all the time. If I want to know about any plant, I just Google within davesgarden.com and skip the rest of the Internet, like so: Rosa 'Gruss an Aachen' site:davesgarden.com. Best plant dictionary there is.
