I thought the same thing, Joeforking. But there are some other, moderately interesting pages at the first site jackdirt linked to.

Hold up, while I collect some of the back story necessary for me to understand the relevance and significance of the pics ...
Black Mass
a ceremony supposedly celebrated during the Witches or Black Sabbath, which was a parody of the Christian Mass. Its main objective was the profanation of the Host, although there is no agreement among authors on how hosts were obtained or profaned ... ; the most common idea is that they were profaned by means of some ritual related to sexual practices
Ah, okay. Oh, and more!
The magical significance of the Black Mass rests in the belief that the Holy Mass involves the miracle of the transubstantiation, that is, the magical or mystical changing of the bread and wine into the body and blood of Jesus Christ. If the priest can affect this miracle within the Holy Mass, then, it is reasoned, the priest, or magician, could effect similar magic in other masses for other, usually harmful, purposes.
Well, I for one feel better now. Please to continue.

Ah yes, this word "history"... I don't think it means what you think it means.
(Thanks Barnacles.)

Messe Noire (NSFW) is a French movie from 1928 of a Black Mass and initiation of a neophyte into a group of Satanists. The movie is about six minutes long.

Don't worry about it, it's almost impossible to please the smug cyber-snobs who loiter around these parts. If you fuck up anything about your post, they descend on you like ravenous critical vultures! It's merciless I tell you.

Yeah, why bother spending time understanding the standards of the community you've stumbled into before contributing to its slide into mediocrity?

If all it took to understand the post is a Wikipedia link, I don't think the poster needs to supply it. Unless there are still people here who need to be taught how to use the Google.

That Marquis de Sade sure knew how to throw a party. The closest I've ever come to that kind of thing were the belly-shots at my friend's pool party this summer :-(

If the "standards of the community" require spoon feeding, then we slid into mediocrity long ago.

The problem is, back then, they didn’t have any sort of more rational rebellion against the consensual conceptualization of the universe through the paradigm of some form of Christianity, (atheism was unthinkable, in some respects, and more of a negation than a rebellion), and they didn’t have mass marketing or heavy metal music yet, so they spent all their time doing the album covers.
Ironic really.
No, not ironic. I mean, the other thing. Jejune
