Well, this is certainly going to add another odd dimension to my nightmares about work.
Sweet.

Don't eat the pictures-- NO! / When you go to museum!
Oh, man, I watched this over and over again when I was a kid. But seriously-- a deceased spirit possibly facing eternal damnation? This was Sesame Street? TV used to be so cool.

Cookie Monster singing a song about resisting the temptation to eat a 4,000 year old corpse? This, ladies and gentlemen, is hardcore.

I was 5 when this came out... I recall that the show scared me to pieces.
Not because of the strange Egyptian boy who had to weigh his heart to get into the afterlife... no, the most disturbing part for me happened in the first 10 minutes.
THE MUPPETS WERE LOCKED INSIDE THE MUSEUM!!!
How were they ever going to get out!?!?!
My parents tell me they had to turn the TV off and calm me down for a good 10 minutes, explaining to me that the muppets would get out in the morning and that they all would be all right.
I was a sensitive child... what can I say? ;)

Mummies hardcore? What about the next verse where Cookie sings about his urge to nibble on a nude statue? Oscar's scene, too, involves some Greco-Roman statuary nudity. I don't see this ever being allowed for children today... it was certainly from a different time.

I watched this movie at least once a week when I was little. I always loved the scene where Grover talked with the suit of armor. And all the scenes with Ernie and Bert. Actually, I loved the whole movie. Sesame Street used to be awesome.
