Wikipedia vs. Predator

A red-billed blue magpie doesn't have anything on Predator. The 2005-2006 South-West Indian Ocean cyclone season, on the other hand, would blow that intergalactic hunter out of the water (literally).

THIS POST VS METAFILTER

METAFILTER WINS!!!!
posted by DU at 6:46 AM on August 26, 2009

I clicked and got Cher v. Predator. Only one winner there. Those Predator claws slash futilely at the silicone armour of the mighty Cher, slowly growing weaker as the massive botox concentrations in Cher's blood leach into the Predator, until finally he lies frozen and immobile at the feet of the victor. He can only stare in unblinking horror as she bares her teeth and bends towards his face.......

Here's why this site is funny -- it's Web 1.0, as some people say. Looks straight out of 2002/2003, no frills, no copyright, no glossy shit, only a single choice, no way to interact with it other than that, and a sweet picture of Predator.

Most people who would come up with a funny concept like this would kill it with as associated twitter, and then try to get a book deal, and make a vlog about the making-of, and the site would look really clean and boring and self-aware-ironic, and then there'd be a t-shirt about it. And then about six months later, Boingboing would link to it, and we'd all feel really embarrassed for ever having liked it.

Whoever made this, though, did it right. A+ job.

"Puerto Ricans in World War I" vs. Predator

I bet on the Puerto Ricans.

Damn That Television: Here's why this site is funny -- it's Web 1.0, as some people say.

So Web 1.0 that it doesn't like Opera - instead of loading a random one each time, it just reloads the same page. I've no idea whether this is a fault of Opera or the site, but that's what happens.

Aside from that, it's awesome.
(And back up, it seems)

Don't blame me, I voted for keyboard cat.

It has a certain charm, but it's no Look at this cat! I mean, it doesn't even calculate the percentage of greatness of Predator.

When there's a post like this that I enjoy, and the consensus seems to be that it's lame, I always picture myself posting in Lina Lamont's voice: "Gee, I kinda liked it!"

Wish I could have found a youtube link for that.

Also: Predator totally whips K.T. Oslin, but I gave the match to Kai Winn, hands down.

I know I swore off the franchise with Requiem, but I would go see Anti-Japanese sentiment in Korea vs. Predator. It sounds like a powerful movie about (intergalactic) race relations.

The first match I got when I saw that site was Gary Busey vs. the Predator...

Gary Busey would do fucking coke out of the Predator's skull once he was done eating him alive.

I have a vision of the future; this is what we will play to keep our minds sharp instead of suduko.

Thanks to this site, I also discovered Thundersnow. Which is going to be the name of my future doom metal band. (Fwiw, I gave the point to Thundersnow as Predator's hate the cold in spite of what the first AvP film might have you believe.)

Predators also hate grocer's apostrophies, so I'm fucked.

As much as we'd like that, it's just not true. I'm pretty sure Busey became wall decor like the rest of the SWAT team.
