Music video for Snake featuring giant stompy robots invading Uruguay. Short film sans band. Behind the scenes.
I don't know that it's that uncommon. In Weapon of Choice you can hear Christopher Walken's tap shoes at times during his routine.

Interesting--saw the non-snake version of this a couple days ago. I prefer the non-snake video, if only because I like Godspeed You! Black Emperor.

It's still acceptable to use shaky-cam in rock videos?

I wanted to like it because hey, giant stompy robots. But all I took away from it was that Fede Alvarez doesn't like Montevideo.

Reminds me of Earth Defense Force 2017.
And much better sans band.

So what this proves is that "videographers" when given a fast lens and a movie-recording DSLR will demonstrate the following:
1) an inability to reliably rack focus
2) a lack of knowledge about what a neutral density filter is for and when one should use it
3) that owning a copy of Color doesn't grant the wisdom to use it well
Yes, your favourite video sucks. At least it doesn't use faux HDR, although I'm reliably assured that's coming to video next week.

Just after the song started and the guy got out of his car to stare, I thought the first robot footsteps were the beginning of a beat track, and I thought that was neat. Then they didn't do that.
And I wanted the building they blew up that I can't remember the name of to transform into another robot just before the missiles hit.
Also, a pony.

I liked how the robots fought their way into the city just so they could turn into GIANT CLANKY BOMBS.

How common is it tp incorporate sounds from the action of a music video into the music itself? Most videos play the song exactly the same as you'd hear it on the radio, so it always strikes me as being really jarring to hear sound effects layered over it. They do it in this one too, for example.
